— A soft, soul-touching scene after becoming parents
Late night. The baby was finally asleep after two hours of crying, feeding, and lullabies.
RahuI leaned against the wall, shirt half-buttoned, hair messy, face tired.
Rani walked in, wearing one of his t-shirts, dark circles under her eyes… but still glowing. Not the makeup glow — the motherhood one.
“He finally slept,” she whispered.
Rahul smiled faintly.
“You did that. You're a superhero now.”
She chuckled softly, walked toward him, and rested her head on his shoulder.
For a few minutes, they just stood there. In silence. In peace.
Then she whispered:
“Do you miss… us?”
He looked at her, surprised.
“You mean before the diapers and 3 a.m. screams?”
“Yes…” she paused, “...when we were just rani and Rahul. Not mama-papa.”
Rahul gently cupped her face, looked into her eyes and said:
“We’re still us.
Just… upgraded.”
“From lovers to lifegivers.”
She smiled through her tears.
He kissed her forehead.
“Tonight, when he sleeps... let’s dance again. Like we used to. In the balcony. Barefoot.”
“Even if it’s just for five minutes,” she whispered.
“Even if it’s just for us,” he replied.
And that night, while the moon peeked through soft curtains and lullabies faded into silence…
Rani and Rahul swayed gently, hand in hand, heart in heart.
No music. No crowd. Just memories — and a new beginning
